Panyaden International School is located in the Hang Dong area of Chiang Mai and offers the English National Curriculum and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. The school is keen to emphasise that they provide a holistic approach to education and stick closely to Buddhist principles, which they hold close to their hearts. They welcome students between 2 and 17 years old and believe in offering an education programme that extends beyond academia.
The school has teachers from a range of different countries, including the UK, Germany and Thailand. Lessons are available in English, German, Thai and Mandarin Chinese. Additional language support is available for Thai and English for those students where it isn’t their first language. The school has an excellent academic record but believe in giving children a broader education, ensuring that they develop physically, emotionally and intellectually while appreciating the environment and caring for others.
The school has a unique design and a long-term objective of being the “greenest school on earth”. The school is constructed from 100% natural materials, and the emphasis is on reducing its carbon footprint. The buildings are cool and well ventilated with an air purification system installed. Of course, the classrooms, including science laboratories, are of the highest standard as too are the sporting facilities.
Panyaden International School also offers students a comprehensive range of extracurricular activities, including robotics, swimming and cooking. The lunchtime menu is healthy and nutritious, with plenty of fruit and vegetables available in keeping with the school’s ethos. Thai and western menus are available with special diets also catered for. As you would expect, there is a strong support network for students, both academically and emotionally, with students from around the world welcomed and studying in harmony with each other.
The school has close affiliation links with a number of internationally recognised educational bodies, including the Thai Ministry of Educational, the IB, the British Curriculum and ISAT. The fees at the school are considerably lower per academic year compared to some of the international schools in and around Chiang Mai, making it the perfect option for many expats and locals living in the region.
